help with modds on my 2003 polaris predator?
i just got a used 2003 polaris predator, the bike runs good n all, but i heard bad things about the fuji motor.. i was wanting a lil more power, and so i was wondering if it would b worth it to modd the engine. will the engine be reliable with these modds? stage two hot cams, weisco high comp piston, big gun rev box, full hmf exhaust.. how will it stand up against raptor 700s with these modds?
I literaly just sold my 2003 Predator, they are fantastic. If you want more power, i dont think i even have to tell you, the first step would be rejetting the carb, and getting a new exhaust system. (i only sold my predator because racing eason came back around and i needed the money to rebuild my CRF250R..) for all i know, you could have my predator. Anyway, the Predator is supposed to put a raptor 700 on its ass stock, i raced my predator, a XC525, and a Raptor 700 SE, and the XC525 came in first, then me, then the raptor. If your isnt beating a raptor 700 now, then maybe you just need your carb cleaned or something, just a general tune-up. A rev box wont be very effective on a Predator because it wont be ny better than the one that is aready has on it. A high compression piston would not be a sacrifice of reiability on a fuji engine (Some KTM's used to have Fuji's, and i think the XC450 may still have it..). Fuji is very reliable, and you can relate the build to a KTM engine, in terms of reliability. Hot cams would be a great idea, but maybe heard ot find on a predator. Anyway, i hope this info helps.
