Where is the ignition coil on a 1986 Chevy Caprice Classic? ''Please Help''!?
I just bought a sunpro super tach II and the green wire says it goes to the negative side of the ignition coil but i have no idea where it is located. Thanks in advance for any help.
On the 1986 Caprice ignition coil is on top of distributor cap. Very easy to change if you can fit under the hood it is located at back of motor toward firewall. About all you will need is a 1/4" socket and a ratchet Two sometime three screw holds cover in place. put cover off becarefull with wires might have to move a few mark the wires very important to get back in same location. after cover is off will see 4 screws that has to come out remove lift coil out use pliers and pull up on wire, after you remove coil in center of cap is a button with a spring on remove. install new parts in reverse order.
